Jupiter is known as “Guru” in Sanskrit. Guru is made of two words – ‘Gu’ and ‘Ru’. ‘Gu’ in Sanskrit means darkness/ignorance and ‘Ru’ in Sanskrit means remover/dispeller. So, Guru translates to a remover of darkness. This is the most auspicious graha (loosely translated as Planet) in Astrology. This is the key indicator.
